Evaluation of the Cost-Optimal Method Applied to Existing Schools Considering PV System Optimization

In Italy in 2020, only 15.5% of school building heritage was retrofitted from an energy and environmental point view. this paper, the cost-optimal method applied to two different buildings belonging same Italian cold climate zone but characterized by structural technological solutions. The research aims at defining cost-effective redevelopment solution among several ones proposed apply type. At time, paper provides a critical analysis methodology applied, highlighting deficiencies related not proper evaluation environmentally friendly retrofitting measures. context, main results show that intervention on heating system is more convenient than envelope. saving equal about 35% for both considered schools. Among requalification configurations, adoption PV (photovoltaic) electric generation included. regard, optimization procedure implemented generative design environment maximize production with reference parameters. As result, south oriented modules tilt angle 42° arranged 0.7 m spaced rows proved be most effective.
